The State Unit on Aging is dedicated to keeping seniors independent in their homes through the delivery of services funded by the Older Americans Act and Older Coloradans Act programs. The State Unit on Aging works closely with 16 Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) to create a comprehensive package of community services.
The following services are available through the Older Americans Act and Older Coloradans Act programs:
Governor Cuomo Announces Medicaid Redesign Web Site to Track Progress and Invite Public Participation
The Medicaid Redesign Team has been tasked by Governor Cuomo to find ways to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency in the Medicaid program for the upcoming 2011-12 Fiscal Year. As part of its work, the Team is seeking ideas from the public at large, the health care workforce, and experts in health care delivery and insurance, economics, business, consumer rights and other relevant areas.

The Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities operates Joining Generations in recognition of the many benefits of bringing together younger and older persons. Over the years, Joining Generations has dealt with various intergenerational issues. Currently, Joining Generations is focusing its resources on providing support to grandparents and relative caregivers who are raising others’ children.
