Mumbai-based Best IT World Pvt Ltd, known for its iBall brand of computer peripherals, aims to capture three per cent of the country’s mobile handset market over the next six months. The company has recently rolled out mobile phones under the same brand name,
“The market for mobile handsets in the country is already cluttered but we believe that there is room for newer players who can bring in innovation. Our USP is our refreshingly new range of mobile phones including water proof as well as dust proof phones and also iBall Senior which is a customized handset for the senior citizens. In the next six months, we aim to capture three per cent of the country’s mobile handset market”, said Sandeep Seksaria, deputy general manager (sales), Best IT World Ltd.
According to industry estimates, there are over 700 million mobile subscribers in the country and around 20 million mobile handsets are sold every month.In the Orissa market, the company hopes to sell around 5000 units of mobile phones per month. It has already appointed 30 distributors and listed over 700 sales points in the state.The company has also targeted to set up eight service centres across the state.The company on Thursday, rolled out six models of iBall mobile handsets in the Orissa market- Shaan, Waterproof, Sleec, Flip, Posh and Senior. The price of these mobile phones ranges from Rs 1250-Rs 7000. The company would launch its Touch model in the next 15 days.
“Based on in-depth research, we have introduced features like SOS button for the senior citizens. We have also designed waterproof handsets considering the Indian weather and lifestyle of working Indians. iBall is the first brand in the Indian mobile phone market to come out with a very clear cut segment strategy for mobile phones. Through this segmented strategy, the brand will be looking at different segment demographics, consumer preferences and specialized requirements”, Sandeep Parasrampuria, director of Best IT World Ltd said in a release.
