CLEVELAND, Ohio — “Faces & Places of Fairfax Community,” a free event showcasing results
of a neighborhood experiment to bring together youth and senior citizens, will be held from
3-5 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church, 8869 Cedar Ave., Cleveland.

Participants will unveil a keepsake quilt depicting the Fairfax community through the eyes
of its youth.

During the 14-week summer program, funded by a Neighborhood Connections grant from
the Cleveland Foundation, youths learned about photography, multi-media design and
Fairfax history.

They also received quilting classes from senior citizens, all members of quilting guilds in local churches. The project was planned and implemented by the Fairfax Inter-Organizational Network, an ad hoc group of residents, church members, representatives from local institutions and citizens.
